SPECIAL EVENT for WISE WOMEN

On January 16th at 1:30 in the CAR we will open our venue to men and women. Doors will open at 1:15 with the program beginning promptly at 1:30.

This event has been changed from evening to daytime at the request of the speaker. I will attempt to reach everyone who was on the wait list from before, however, in case I miss someone, please feel free to text me to confirm a spot. As before we will be limited to 40 people.

Retired CIA officer and author of Widow Spy, Marti Peterson will speak about her career and story about being a covert CIA officer in Moscow in the 1970’s. Peterson was one of the first women to be assigned to Moscow, a very difficult operating environment during the Cold War. Her story begins in Laos during the Vietnam War where she accompanies her husband, John, a CIA officer and Green Beret. Ultimately, her husband dies in a helicopter crash in 1972. She will then describe joining the CIA, walking the dark streets alone in Moscow, and placing dead drops for her agent. Her relentless pursuit of her agent by the KGB ends with her arrest. Her career lasts 32 years and includes many exciting moments.

One of the aspects of Wise Women is to pay it forward.  Each month we invite the speaker to pick a charity and we collect a small donation to support that charity. Suggested donation is $10 per person. All funds collected will go to the American Red Cross.

This is a RSVP event. Please do not respond on Club Express as I don’t always see those emails. Text Kelly Good at (757) 650-5787 to reserve your seat. I will confirm via text.

Please no fragrances or perfumes.

Looking forward to SEEING everyone.
